1. Title: “Economic Conditions in the Madras Presidency- 1800-1850”
Author. Dr. A. Sarada Raju
S.R.Publications , Chennai 2nd Re-print December 2012
ISBN 978-81-926647-0-5 Prie Rs 700
Extracts of the speeches delivered by the dignitaries, during the Centenary Celebrations and book release function of Dr.(Mrs) Sarada Raju.
Dr(Mrs)P.Nagabooshanam M.A.,M.L., Ph.D. Prof,, (Retired), Department of Legal studies, University of Madras, Founder Vice Chancellor, TamilNadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University
Her book throws light about the socio economic conditions of Madras Presidency during1800 – 1850. It reflects the social changes in East India and she has brought out the gradual deterioration of villages giving way to the decline of the economy. She brought out the changes in the village management system during the company rule. Her analysis on agriculture reflects not only the time sphere she took for her research but also it seems to continue to the same till date. Irrigation used to be well maintained by the respective villages in those days. When villages have lost tier original forms and vigour, gone with them are the proper maintenance of water ways……..The starting point for all theses calamities has been brought by the author in her chapter on irrigation. It also gives a glimpse of legal aspects of Madras Presidency. She has drawn the true picture of Madras Presidency which reflects whole of India in a way. Her analyses seem to remain the same even now. Her observations holds good even today. Dr Sarada Raju’s work is highly commendable and serves as eye opener for all those who are concerned.
1.Prof.M.Naganathan, M.A.,M.L.,Ph.D.,D.Litt. Former Vice-Chairman, State Planning Commission. Government of Tamil Nadu & Professor and Head (Retd.), Department of Economics, University of Madras
Dr.Sarada Raju was a economist of eminence and intellectual. The views of Karl Marx and other economists were thoroughly analyzed with a research mission by Dr.Sarada Raju in her productive contribution to the growing area of economic history of India. Therefore this book would provide a knowledge treasure for teachers, scholars and students of economics.
2.Dr.V.Loganathan, Former Tagore Professor of Economics, University of Madras,
The book “Economic Conditions in the Madras Presidency (1800-1850) by Dr. Sarada Raju can be considered a classic in Economic History as far as Madras Presidency during the first of the 19th century is concerned. It is comparable to Southgate’s Economic History of U.K. and Maurice Dobb’s Soviet Economic History. The book is rich in empirical context and the analysis and conclusions are based on impeccable data. But she does not take all the data she comes across on their face value, because, some of the accounts of the British administrators, are based on asymmetric information. In such cases, she does not hesitate to comment on the data in their correspondence. Thus Dr Sarada Raju’s study is based on objectivity and impartiality.
Prof.A.Devaraj M,A(G,T),M.Phil(G.T),.M .A(His),.M.Phil., (His),.M.A.(J&C).,M.A(R.P), Director, Bharathi Institute of Rural & Tribal Development, Coimbatore.
Dr Sarada Raju’s work was considered as a highly resourceful reference book by many eminent Economists, such as Padmashri Dr. N.D.Sundaravadivelu, and Dr. B. Natarajan, an economist of rare distinction.
2.Title: Noolaga nirvagam: Andrum indrum
Authors: T.K.Thiruvenkatamani & Manorama Srinath

3. Colon Classification : Simplified approach
Authors: A.Bagavthi & Manorama Srinath B.R. Publishing Corporation 2013
Colon classification is one of the classic works of Dr.S.R.Ranganathan. This book has been particularly written for students of Library Science in a very simplified manner. If the fundamental rules of CC are clearly understood by the students it will be easier for them to classify any complex subject. The content of this book includes such complex numbers, using the various devices in CC as examples. This book has been aimed only at the practical approach of CC, hence the theory part of classification has not been included in this book. This book will be useful not only for students but also for the teachers of classification since it contains number of worked out examples.
