Expert System is an artificial intelligent tool used for designing the knowledge base system, and with this study explains how Knowledge Management can be applied in Railways . For this purpose a soft ware named as Railway Knowledge Management ( RAKMAN) has been designed (using ASP, Dream weaver and MS Access 2000 for the back end) which covers all the major aspects of Indian Railways.
The Topics covered by the Expert system (RAKMAN) for Indian Railways in this project are-
History of Railway, Railway Zones, Divisions, Production and Manufacturing Units, Budget and Finance, Organization Structure, Public Sector Undertakings under the Ministry of Railways, Railway Operations, Railway Services, Marketing. , Problems and Solutions and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s). The interactive system provided answers regarding these aspects.
