An Expert System is a knowledge-based computer program containing expert domain knowledge about objects, events, situations and courses of action, which emulates the process of human experts in the particular domain. Expert systems are extensively used in the medical field. Expert system facilitates organization of knowledge in such a manner, which fills up the gap of the absence of an expert in any field.
The ancient Siddha medical system proves to be an alternative effective system for Allopathy especially for certain chronic diseases. Unfortunately, such wonderful ancient Indian medical system was not popularized due to the secrecy
Hence this ancient scientific information which are scattered in the form of Tamil Poetries, have been organized in a more logical manner, with English translations so that, it should have a wider use at global level.
The major aim of the study is to create an expert system for Siddha medicine.
